COHEN'S NURSERY // DURING + AFTER
this summer we finally started getting to work on little man's room! here's a preview of where we were before and a quick shot of mr. holmesy before it all got started...
in august, we finally decided on a crib! we looked for months and months searching online and in stores for the perfect bed for mr. cohen and we finally stumbled upon this gorgeous traditional design in all places, target! we ended up having enough money leftover from returns and in gift cards to purchase it! even better!
aric found cohen's dresser at his work one day and we absolutely love it! it's a piece he'll have forever. the inside of the drawers are lined in cedar so every time you open them, it smells so fresh!
halfway through the room design! we finally got the navy drapes hung! after looking through thousands of curtain ideas, i decided to just order plain navy fabric and have the hems sewn! such an easy and inexpensive project! i love that it brings out the navy in the rug!
we still haven't decided if we want to get a door or hide his closet with a curtain, so this part is still up in the air! but i love the print to the left of the closet - it was the fingerprint guest book at my baby shower and it features a hand drawn giraffe with "welcome cohen jennings holmes." it makes me so happy to look at it and all the fingerprints that love and adore our baby son already!
another thing that makes me smile is seeing his name on stuff! we had his hamper liner embroidered with his name and it just makes everything seem so real!
featured in his crib is the first gift we bought him - a giraffe that plays a lullaby when you pull his neck! i've played it for the girls many a time to get them ready to hear it a bunch for their brother!
oh my gosh, i think our rocker is my favorite part of his room (thank you mom & tom)! it is so comfortable and so gorgeous and i just can't wait to rock our sweet boy in it! the other finishing touch in the room were the letters we found serendipitously at a local store in norman! we had been discussing what to put over his crib and after we found those letters, we knew that was it! everything fell into place after that! we also got a little table to put some of his book and sound machine on!

another fun surprise we got was from my sister about a month ago! she had this gorgeous wreath made that features cohen's name! i love that it's hung on his door - it goes perfectly with his entire nursery! i also cannot wait to show him my most favorite giraffe photograph that i got from all my baby shower hostesses whenever we change his diaper! it's the cutest thing ever!
