a lego city birthday party invitation

this was such a fun request i got awhile back. our client's son was turning 6 and wanted a lego city party, but wasn't too thrilled with the actual theme of it. she wanted to just use the lego city colors: gray, blue and red, and not the traditional primary colors of legos and somehow incorporate stripes! 

she came up with the clever poem: "pizza, cake and lego city bricks, it's a party when kaiden turns six!" i absolutely love that! we kept the design real minimal with the legos and instead focused on typography. we designed with a font that looked like it could have been made out of legos and used the same font to design the "6" pattern on the back of the invitation.
